Goodbye September; Hello Winterfylleth!  Wait ... hello what?!  Winterfylleth was the old English name for the month of October.  It is a combination of the words "winter" and "full moon". The English also referred to the month of October as "winmonath", also known as wine month. Here's what else you can look forward to:

Dr. Kevin from Ajax, Ont. writes:  Just listening through Season 7 ... came across the episode with Dr. Matt from Florida. As a fellow chiropractor, I really enjoyed this.  I'm in Ajax, Ontario. Nick would know that as it's just outside of Toronto. Keep up the good work ... just wanted to say I love you guys and the show.

Moore on the Debut of The Bat Signal
In the Batman movie series, the "Bat-Signal" had two purposes: first, it functioned as a distress signal to summon the Caped Crusader and second, the bat-silhouetted spotlight intimidated villans by reminding them that Batman was out there in Gotham City. Dan Riskin's "The Bat Signal" is different. His is a free weekly newsletter designed to entertain readers by drawing their attention to science stories and trivia.
